On May 1st, 2026, I received a request from someone close in the community, asking to hop into a Minecraft server using a custom mod pack via Curseforge (if you're familiar with Minecraft mods, you'll know what I'm talking about.) The conversation I was having with the person checked out like normal.

Upon running the pack, the person I was chatting with spit all my usernames, passwords, and other sensitive info (used in Google Password Manager) into our chat, and asked for cash.

A Java executable ran a program locally through Curseforge, infecting my computer with a Trojan virus and sending whatever info the hackers wanted to their remote access terminal.

I was logged out of Discord, yanked my computers' power, and made a bunch of calls. Over the next seven hours, I proceeded to secure all my accounts, credentials, and do damage control. In this time, my expert moderation team did all they could to keep members within my Bricks 'O' Brian Discord community, but it was no use.

The hackers seem to have taken a "scorched Earth" approach, spamming all my friends with phising messages, and deleting all the servers I operated - including our community Discord server.
